Build and mobilise

With a level of understanding around the reasons for change and clear delegations of responsibilities, it is now important to ensure the transition is managed carefully. For larger NFPs this will involve leveraging the engagement with senior management to build momentum in the wider organisation. It is again important to communicate the rationale for change around the benefits of collaboration back-of-house services will bring to the organisation. For smaller NFPs, it is important to ensure sufficient resources have been allocated to implement the transition. In a small organisation, this will belay fears that the effort to implement the transition to shared services is detracting from client care. The overarching aim of this stage of the transition is to ensure there is an organisation wide understanding of the rationale for change and engagement in the transition.
